We had the pleasure of having Heather as a" part of our family" for 3 years while she helped one of our sons work through his dyslexia. His self-esteem was low and reading really seemed to challenge him more than my other children. A friend suggested Heather for learning therapy. An assessment proved that there were gaps in some of his learning/processing. We immediately started (2) 1 hour sessions per week. Within several months, we saw his confidence grow. He was eager to read aloud and attempted more of his schoolwork on his own. Not only was his confidence growing but his reasoning in sounding out hard words was improving and he quite often attempted to read above grade level readers. Heather is a nurturer at heart so my son felt valued and encouraged even when his attention span kept him from giving her his very best. He loved her reward system and he became very proud of his work with her. He has just recently “graduated” out of his time with her as he is testing at grade level and even beyond in some areas. We will certainly miss seeing her and are so thankful for the time she invested in his life.
